philanthropic work in the Colony unless he possesses a permit from the Colonial Secretary enabling him to do

(2). Subject to the provisions of sub-section (4), the grant or refusal, and the cancellation, of any such permit shall be in the absolute discretion of the

Colonial Secretary.

(3). Any such permit may contain such conditions as

the Colonial Secretary may think fit,

(4).

No such permit shall be issued until the applicant shall have signed the form of undertaking provided in the Schedule.

5. (1). The Governor in Council may make regulations

for any of the following purposes:-

(a) for regulating and restricting the admission into the Colony of aliens desiring to engage in missionary, educational or other philanthropic work therein;

(b) for regulating and restricting the carrying en of missionary, educational or other philanthropic work in the Colony by alions; (c) for the inspection and supervision of mission-

ary, educational and other philanthropic work carried on in the Colony by aliens;

(a) for excluding any specified classes of aliens from the operation of the Ordinance; and

(s) generally for carrying into affect the

provisions of this Ordinanca,

(2).

All regalations made under this Ordinance shall he laid on the table of the Legislative Council first meeting thereof held after the publicat- ion in tise isette of the making of such regulations, and if a resolution be passed at the first meeting

of the Legislative Council held after such regulations have been laid on the table of the said Council
